    added another 2gb = BSOD

    Hi there,
This is the second time of typing this, as the problem occurred again when i'd nearly finished the first time! Typical eh?

So before I begin, my setub before adding the new RAM:
    CPU: C2D E6600 OCed to 3.33GHz
    Mobo: P5K Deluxe Wifi
    RAM: 2x1Gb Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4
    HDD: 410Gb of Samsung SpinPoints
    PSU: 700w xClio
    GFX: X1900XTX
    OS: XP Pro, SP2

While doing the OCing, about a year ago now, I set the RAM to 2.1v, 44412, as it's rated, and it's been like that with no probs since. I added another 2 sticks of the same RAM about 2 hours ago, and problems began.

Firstly i've had 2 BSODs (one using iTunes, and one using BF2142), and FireFox, iTunes, and IE7 have been crashing repeatedly.

I didn't change any BIOS settings when I added the new RAM, just checked that it was still set the same (2.1v, 44412). Should I have changed anything? Also, AFAIK the BSODs are pretty much definitely from the RAM, but the program crashes are a bit odd aren't they? Never seen that before.

One other thing. I've taken the new sticks out now, and they were really hot. I'm not sure how hot is normal, but they were nearly painful to the touch.

    So, can anyone advise me?

    Thanks for reading.
    Max

Have you run memtest or windiag on the sticks? Have you tried upping the northbridge voltage a little? (pretty common to have to do that with 4 sticks)

    Exactly right.

Please make sure that you have the latest bios for your MB and then load optimized defaults and set the Dim Voltage to volts and then set the timings to (CAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) and then test the module with www.memtest.org

Also, list ALL of the information from the stickers on each module.

I upped the NB voltage and it's been stable since. Thanks for the advice everyone - This is why I love Hexus <3
