    XMS2-6400 Failing Memtest

I've just had 2x2GB Corsair memory delivered (from Scan). I can happily install and run Vista 64bit with 2GB but not with 4GB.

I've ran memtest seperately on each memory module.
One works perfectly fine and passed.
The other currently has 434000 errors and climbing.

I'm running on a Gigabyte EP45-UD3R motherboard, Intel Q6600 (stock speed) with the latest bios and default values (I've also tried with matching the 4-4-4-12 2.10V setting)

Any ideas if this is a misconfiguration problem (which I'm beginning to think unlikely) or have a just got a duff memory module.

    Thanks

    Chris

Regarding the BIOS configuration, suggest you check out the Gigabyte support forums. This post looks like it hits the mark.

...but it does look like you got one bad stick.

Very happy with my EP45-UD3P, rock solid with 8GB of RAM

I would suggest that you return it to SCAN or, you can RMA to us. Shipping will probably be less expensive with SCAN.

    Re: XMS2-6400 Failing Memtest

Thanks to toolsong for the Gigabyte forum posting - I think I saw every posting apart form that one
I tried the settings on that page but with no luck.

I've organised an RMA with Scan and the memory is curretly winging its way back to them. Hopefully they find a fault and send me some new memory - can't use that PC now though
