XMS3 sticks; What's the difference?

Just an idle question whilst I dither about buying 8GB RAM...

What the difference between these 4x2GB sets of XMS3 memory?

8GB (4x2GB) Corsair XMS3 Classic, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.50V

CMX8GX3M4A1333C9 (£150 @ Scan)
CMX8GX3M4B1333C9 (£180 @ Scan)

Looking on Corsairs own website, the 'B' kit doesn't actually exist.

Edit: The 'B' kit is designed for AMD platforms, at least its under the Phenom II header on they're site - however i see no reason why they wouldn't work on an Intel board if they're the cheaper option as they don't include the BEMP either.

Our testing has shown that some kits that would would work on one platform but, not run at full speed consistantly on the other platform. So, we recommend that customers buy the correct kit based on our lists. In this case, A for Intel and B for AMD.

Just my luck to have planned an AMD hex-core system so need to more expensive RAM!

We don't recommend mixing 2 kits of memory. Our current recommendations for AMD memory are here:

I wasn't intended on mixing the two kits, but doubling up one of the two. I guess from the compatibility table however, I'm limited to either;
