    RAM for Z77

Currently looking for some RAM to go with a Asus Maximus V Gene and a i5 3570k. Looking for 16GB really, more than enough for gaming, but I do occasionally use Softimage XSI, so will come in handy there.

Here's what I've been looking at:

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/show [...] =MY-349-CS
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/show [...] =MY-316-CS

At first I was looking at the platinum series, but they seem to be sold out everywhere, so thinking of just going for the standard dominator series.

I've read that filling all four RAM slots puts more strain on the memory controller than just using two slots, yet the 4x4GB kits seem to have better timings.

    Any advice?

Your links don't seem to work. But 4 sticks of 4gb RAM are usually cheaper than 2 sticks of 8. So you may as well go for that. However two sticks will work better as your motherboard is optimised for dual channel.

Surely 4 sticks of 4gb will still be in dual channel?
