How well does dominator EPP ram do on 965?

I am looking at getting some of this 2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2 Dominator,DDR2 PC2-6400,240 Pins, NonECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12, EPP
and was wondering how well it works on 965 boards particularly dq4,dq6 and the asus wifi. Also as it has epp which correct me if I am wrong is used in nForce 680 boards as a advantage from the ram, performance profiles?. Will it still work well?

ps. I do mean oc'ing of course

If you are wanting to OC, the current PC6400C4 Dominator is not your best choice. The 965 boards are clocking memory very well so my suggestion would be the Dominator PC8500 or faster. You can get a moderate OC with the PC6400 but, you should have much better results with the 8500.

But I thought that these mobo's can't run ddr2 at pc8500 at default?
I thought that you could get ddr2 pc6400 to run up at 1000 mhz top?
And also imo the price of ddr2 pc8500 is way way too much atm.

    thankyou

No, there are no MOBOs out currently that will run memory at 1066mhz stock. The max supported is 800mhz so you have to OC to get more than that. Our PC6400 will OC some but probably not to 1000mhz. It is not made with the same ICs as the 8500 and therefore does not scale up as well. If you want to be "guaranteed" of 1066mhz memory operation, I'd suggest the PC8500. However, if you OC at 1:1, the PC6400 is very fast with a CPU that will run close to, or above 400mhz.

I think pc-8500 is a bit out of my league atm. But what is the dominator ram like on 965 boards particularly the one I am thinking of.

Well, we only guarantee 800mhz at the rated timings and voltage. However, the guys in the lab and on some forums are seeing anywhere from 850mhz to 1000mhz depending on varying factors. My guess is that you will hit about 900mhz-950mhz at 2.1v, which is the maximum warrantied voltage.
