The PassMark scores for the FX8150 look much higher than for the Phenom II X6 1100T:

    Re: AMD - Bulldozer Chitchat

It seems the Passmark scores for the Core i7 2600K were for overclocked CPUs.

Here is a comparison with a Core i7 2600K at stock speeds:

    http://www.overclock.net/15137769-post6861.html

The stepping of the Bulldozer CPU is not indicated in the chart.

This post mentioned Bulldozer will have a reasonable IPC increase:

It seems Piledriver might be on socket AM3+ which is good news if true:

That's the one without IGP right? Nice to see they're keeping socket compatibility where possible, something else that lowers platform cost.

If specifically coded for. Yuk, I hate vendor specific procedures. AMD will be asking people to move away from AVX, while Intel will be asking for it. Only one winner there

I thought the FX also supports AVX so its a win for amd where ever the market moves.

It does support it, but the posts suggest that AVX performance isn't great. If you want to accelerate you need to use fma2 instead.

Leaked pricing for the launch FX CPUs from a large US retailer:

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=1#post4964728

It looks they are starting to remove the pricing information though.

It looks like the FX 6120 is priced at the same level as the Phenom II X6 1100T and the Core i5 2400.

Sorry for asking something that may have been answered but have been following this thread for a while. But when are these coming out?

It seems like ages ago i decided to go sandy bridge as AMD kept pushing the date back. But has an official date been set yet to see how these chips actually compare?

October 12th seems to be the date now quoted by multiple sources.

Technically speaking all the dates have been rumours and the nearest date AMD hinted was September AFAIK.

Thanks Cat. Wonder why AMD haven't given a firm date themselves . . . . usually they would give a little bit of hype before a launch.

    Re: AMD - Bulldozer Chitchat

I suspect they have issues in terms of fab capacity. With the low yields on Llano it may well be that they're still hedging their bets on how much capacity to give to Llano and how much to give to Bulldozer. After all, Llano is likely to be the high volume chip for them, soif yields are still low (which they seem to be) they need to dedicate much more fabbing capacity to get the right number of chips out the door.

Wonder if AMD would considering moving some production to Intel if GLOFO can't get it sorted...?

    More leaked pricing:

It seems the FX 4100 will be around £80 in the US. With VAT we are looking at around £95.

CAT, if I may ask, what is the FX4100 likely to compare against, I know there aren't any benchies yet for the CPU's but lets say on your hunch?
