    3770K oem/retail

anyone have any idea why the oem version costs more than the retail? usually the retail costs more because it includes the fan. hopefully its due to an improvement in the oem version to reduce heating. anyone bought an oem chip and overclocked it?

There won't be any improvement to the OEM version. Price variations at somewhere like Scan will just reflect how much it cost them to buy that particular batch.

Yeah, it'll just be randomness. Check you're comparing the same versions - are they both the K version? It could just be to do with them having more stock of one than the other. If you plan on using an aftermarket fan anyway then go for the OEM, but the included fans are very good nowadays anyway.

I believe that the oem version does not come with a full colour retail box and with a 1 year warranty as a posed to the 3 year warranty from the full retail version. Correct me if I am wrong though (:
