    Highly recommend the Corsair H60

Recently purchased a Corsair H60 to replace my Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro rev 2

    WOW
Cooling My qx9650 amazingly with not so great corsair fans (mis-matched and used for time being) at 50% speed

Overclocked to 4Ghz on xfx 790i ultra sli motherboard, with 1.425 (I think) voltage, fsb at 1600, RAm linked and synced

Temps never exceed 65 degreees Celcius when under heavy load, was a second hand cpu and is has about 3years if not more of use out of her (cpu)

True testament to corsair's quality of products!

I'll have a good at this CPU cooler then I don't know whether I could get a water cooler fan or a typical one like the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO - I didn't actually think that the 212 was so big :S But yeah, need to reconsider my CPU cooler (as the RAM I have been looking at have a large teeth like structure that could get in the way of the 212).

yup they preety good. Got the H79 one myself ,very little difference between the 2 I guess.

one thing that boterhs me thoughh. When you leave your PC on for a few days the temps go upto 50c

Which isnt too bad I guess.

Re: Highly recommend the Corsair H60

I've implemented the Corsair H100 into my new 3D gaming PC and like it a heck of a lot now.

It's lovely and quiet most of the time apart from if I go silly with the fan settings on Maximum or OC my CPU to crazy speeds, but even then its a lot quieter than my older Q6600 based PC ever was.

I also find it funny that the temperatures reported on my CPU at desktop are lower than my motherboard reported temperatures

Worthy coolers if your looking to overclock processors but just don't have the time to mess around with the 'real water' kits that are available.

Re: Highly recommend the Corsair H60

    Compaired to the ACf7p . . . well duh.
sorry but I'm not surprised it's a major improvement over the ageing ACf7p, the ACf7p is a big step up from a stock cooler and still one of the best 92mm fan based coolers which will fit in narrower cases where a 120mm fan based cooler will not.

However for a quad core cpu the ACf7p does struggle with the fan having to kick up the speed to keep it cool under load.
Something like the corsair A70 would of done a far better job than the ACf7p while still being nearly half the cost of the H60

It's a bit like saying that the i5 2500k is loads faster than the core2duo e6600, it a rather obvious statement.

Compare it to a similar costing air cooler such as the Thermalright Silver Arrow and the difference is far less, doesn't make the H60 a bad cooler though and it does have some major advantages, like being far smaller esp in the cpu socket area, less weight and stress on the motherboard and being able to dump the heat directly out of the case if fitted as an exhaust or fitting it as an intake for maximum delta's.

The H100 that lee mentioned is even better, the 240rad means it's more tricky to fit (there are fewer cases on the market that can take it without modification) however it does beat every air cooler on the market, down side is that it also costs more than any air cooler on the market. (but still less than a custom loop)

Re: Highly recommend the Corsair H60

I also have the H100 but am yet to really put it to the test, haven't really had the time to properly sit and overclock plus i haven't noticed any lack of performance. I did immediately change the fans on it (i think the corsair ones are a bit noisy) to akasa venoms but the general build quality is great

Yeah purchased the H50 over a year ago, and still going strong. Keeps my i7 (OC from 3.2 to 4GHz) nice and cool
