That's my plan, however the hot weather we've been getting has seen the room temperature go up to as high as 32 degrees centigrade and the average tends to be in the high 20's and this is not helping me at the moment.

I high ambient doesn't ever help. Wish I had high 28 temps here.
I would be out in the garden with a beer otherwise.

Friend of mine was reaching 60*c on 40% load, prob should look in to that hm
Sounds like he might have air flow issues.
Get him to check cable management, ensure the CPU cooler is dust free and ensure his fans are all running.
Reseating the cooler as well will not go a miss. What kinda cooler is it?
My PHII X6 hit 80c when I forgot to plug the fans in, no shutdown was working fine for a bit. So the thermal protection trip is probably set high.
The recommended is 62c, but they do start to play up over 55c. Deneb chips are a bit tougher. If I remember rightly 40c is the max on the core temperatures.
Lowering the internal control volt helps with heat.
However you want to watch the socket temperatures, more likely to fail the board than your chip if you push it too far.
Never really get my chip higher than 42deg in real world use.
Playing War thunder last night for about 5 hours and temps were good even though the 4 cores where fluctuating between 40 and 70 percent all night.
not to mention the heat chucked out by my graphics card.
