I don't know your budget but the CM Hyper 212 Evo is pretty good for only £25
What's your budget for the cooler?
The cooler that's commonly regarded as the best air cooler is the Noctua NH-D14, I don't like the Noctua as I think it's too big so I went for the cheaper and smaller NZXT Havik 140 which has done well in reviews but it is quite tricky to install and has an overly complicated mounting mechanism. The Coolermaster 212 coolers are very popular, Scan have two versions available they have the Quiet and the Evo models, I think there's not that much of a performance benefit in moving up to the Evo but it's worth checking online for reviews before ordering one.
Also check the specifications for your case, usually if you have room for a 120mm at the back of the case then you'll be able to fit the larger tower coolers but from one of the customer reviews of your case on Amazon it looks as if the case doesn't support fans of that size so it might limit the size of cooler you can use. If you can afford it, I would consider getting a better quality case.
budget is around £35 Does it come with thermal paste? and are the fans easy to change
my case cannot fit a 120 mm fan i think i have a 80mm at the back as a exhaust fan
Daft question, has this just started happening and how long have you been running the stock cooler? the basic cooler tends to get clogged up with dust under the fan fairly easily, taking the fan off and cleaning under it normally does wonders tbh
to be fair im really scared to it. is it easy to do. and is putting new paste easy.
You don't have to remove the heatsink just the fan itself, its clipped on either side and just comes off the heatsink. Just spray it out with a can of compressed air to clean all the dust.
If all you are doing is cleaning under the fan then you won't need to take the cooler off, you simply unscrew the fan itself and you can clean all of the dust out, you'll get the best results using a can of air, otherwise a dry cloth and blowing into the fins will work. To remove the fans just unclip the fan assembly as shown here:
are there any videos anyone knows of to help change or clean fans
I found this on YouTube.
Thanks for all you suggestions and help, I think I am just going to buy a brand new aftermarket fan. The reasons are that the fan is just to loud sounds like a hoover at times and that can be very annoying. How can I ensure that the fan will fit in my case before purchasing it? I really do not want to make the mistake of buying a fan and it does not fit only to end yp with no fan and a very annoying situation.
Looking for info about the case all I could find was the external dimensions of 185mm x 412mm x 440mm (W x H x D) from the UK distributor. A Coolermaster 212 heatsink is about 159mm tall so with 185mm external width after space for standoffs and backplate etc... I don't know if you'll have enough space to fit a 160mm cooler. You might need to open it up and measure the clearnace yourself.
