Replacing stock fans on Antec Kuhler 920

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I didn't see a Cooling section.

I'm looking to replace the fans on an Antec Kuhler 920, the stock fans are simply too loud under load.
The 920 is cooling an i7 950, currently at stock speeds but if I can improve temps I'll overclock it.

I've been considering the following fans as replacements...

    Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition 1450RPM
    Scythe GT AP-15 1850RPM
    Zalman ZM-F3
Zalman ZM-F4 (not sure about these, might be too big for my case rear exhaust)
    Akasa Apache Black 4-pin PWM
be quiet Shadow Wings 4-pin PWM

I'd prefer to go for a 4-pin PWM if possible so I can control speeds using the Antec software, but the quietest and coolest fan wins.

Anyone used any of these fans before? Any other fans I could consider?

    Cheers.

Hi there mate I own the Akasa Apache 4pin pwm fans, their rigged on to my Corsair H100 in push-pull config, in my opinion their excellent fans and are silent but not whisper silent it depends on what setting they are for instance at max setting on the H100 they have a slight hum its mildly irritating. My case is next to me on the desk if it were on the floor it would silent on that setting otherwise fans are quiet. The corsair sp120 fans are good but my gosh in my opinion their a are a rip off for that price bracket.

+1 for Apache fans. I had those on my Antec kuhler 620 and they were awesome. Perfect for the job.

The SP120s are a twin pack, ~£22 for two fans. Apache retail are ~£12 each so would be £24 for two :S.

Still if the Apaches are good I'd go for them, hopefully they can provide better temps than the stock while being quieter, cheers.

phinix did you notice a drop in temps on your 620 using the Apaches rather than the stock?

Well the other thing I should have said but well its for your to research is that the fans have to push air through the fins of the radiator and thats another reason you have hiss and noise so I suppose the silence is just arbitrary with watercooling in my opinion especially if your oc'ing and PWM is best choice for you good luck which ever you go for actually I didnt read the deal properly thats like nice deal for the corsair.

I'm still inclined to pick the Apaches since they are 4-pin PWM, that's really the deal-breaker since I don't want to hear max RPM SP120s when I'm just browsing the web. Ty for the advice.

I can definitely recommend either the Apaches or the shadow wings, both are great fans.
