My new system with a i3570k on a gigabyte d3h is running at 3.4ghz all the time when it is supposed to run at 3.4ghz.Is there a reason for this?

Do you mind?
I mean presumably you bought a K series so you could overclock?
You can always turn this off, or clock it higher or lower if you prefer.
But 3.8ghz isn't going to do any harm unless you are really fussy about power consumption.

No dont mind at all just curious and I got the 3570k to overclock at some point fine as it is for now. Thanks
I'm assuming your BIOS is set to have turbo mode constantly on. 3.8ghz if anything would get you a boost unless you're bothered about power consumption like Willzzz said
i don't understand if it runs higher-clock than stock or if it doesn't go slow in idle... if the problem is high clock in idle, make sure windows settings are on "balanced"
