Will be using the new pc for internet manly and for media watching. No gaming at all

is it worth to pay 80 dollar extra to get the i7????

i need help also to chose MB chipset z77 or H77 or what????

i found gigabyte z77-d3x for 144$ and some people told me it has some issue like freezing on ivy bridge CPU???

i found also msi Z77A-G43 for 125$ and alot of people told me to chose from another company

i need only MB that support my processor very well and support Sata 6Gb/s because i bought samsung 830 SSD 128GB for instaling system on it

Re: i5-3570 or i7-3770 for internet PC???

Buy a laptop mate, or a tablet. These are designed for the heavy/exclusive internet users with the benefit of mobility and simple apps for other quick tasks. Most laptops let you replace the harddrive, swap in your SSD.

For reference there is no such thing as as an i5 - 3750. The reference translates as 3(ivy)7xx(i7)k(multiplier unlocked).

But yeah if its only between thous 2, get the i5-3570K. i7-3770 is mainly worth it for simulations/rendering/video-editing due to the extra threads 8 v 4 (though they are "only" simulated threads, it still only has 4 real cores). Even then, i'd spend the 80 you save and buy a NH D14. Overclock liberally.

H77 is Z77 but without support for overclocking and multi GPU setups (SLI + Crossfire). Nothing in the price atm get Z77.

For internet alone and ignoring wether i would go for that i5 in the first place for this use. +Using integrated graphics of the i5-3570 is a reason i guess. !-Buy the MSI Z77A-G41. It'll do the job. Its half the price, supports Sata 6.

If it's just for internet and viewing videos, then a cheap Intel Core i3 or AMD A4/A6 system will be just fine. A laptop or tablet is also a good idea unless you want it permanently hooked upto a big screen (i use a HP Proliant Microserver N40L as a media system/HTPC hooked upto my HDTV. It's perfectly fine for internet, blu-ray playback and viewing other video formats etc...).

As above, neither if it's just for browsing the internet etc, save some money and get a lower power chip.

Re: i5-3570 or i7-3770 for internet PC???

    +1 to the above.
You don't need an i5 or i7 for internet or media viewing use. Either one of a Sandy or Ivy Bridge i3 at any clock speed will do more then well enough. And there's no need to overclock at all / no need for custom cooling.
For SATA III, any Intel X7X (B75, Z77, etc.) board will do (Ivy Bridge processors need a 7 series board too), but you're not going to notice any benefit from SATA III speeds, and your drive is backwards compatible with SATA II - so you could get a Sandy Bridge i3 and an Intel 6 series motherboard (Z68, etc.) if you find it all cheaper that way.
If you're not planning on gaming at all, save your cash.

Re: i5-3570 or i7-3770 for internet PC???

I agree with the michaelrawle and just buy a lap top (but im assuming you are using a laptop right now). So if you are set on having a PC and don't have a monitor, windows etc. Why not buy an all in one pc like the HP touchsmart, A smart looking pc and its a touch screen, so with windows 8 around the corner (which you can upgrade to for I think £25) you will have full control over the interface . There are many different variants of these style pcs from sony, acer with different cpu i5 i7 etc. Just clone the samsung drive with the pc and your away.

For web and media you don't need anywhere near the power of an i5. You'd be fine with a Pentium or AMD A4 APU. Both are much cheaper than the processor's you're looking at. Couple it with a B75/H77 (for the Pentium) or A75 (for the A-series APU) motherboard and you'll get SATA 6Gbps ports, although you don't need them to use your Samsung 830 and it will still be very fast even through SATA 3Gbps ports, which means you could even use a cheaper H61/A55 motherboard.

TBH, you'd probably even be alright with a Celeron G465...

Out of curiosity, why are you looking at such high powered CPU's for internet browsing?

Re: i5-3570 or i7-3770 for internet PC???

    Is it this one?

    https://www.microsoft.com/hardware/e...00001#overview

If it's for Skype, the text seems to suggest that Skype can't do 1080p video chat. Now, Skype can, but only if both you and the person you're chatting with have 1080p webcams, fast enough computers, *AND* 2Mbps bidirectional internet provision (assuming you're not 1080p chatting over LAN, that is ). For 720p HD video chatting they only recommend a 3GHz dual core, and for standard video chat only a 1.6GHz dual core. Frankly that's what you're most likely to be using.

Also the included software with that camera won't record in 1080p, so you'd need third party video capture software. And you'd need a reason to record 1080p video off a webcam in the first place (if you have one I *really* don't want to know about it ). So unless either: you are absolutely 100% sure that you want to use your webcam to record 1080p video *and* you have the software to handle it; or you are absolutely sure that you will be using 1080p video chat and that both you and person you will be chatting with have fast enough broadband provision; I wouldn't bother about the 3GHz quad core thing.

And even if either of those situations does apply, you still don't need a 3570k/3770k: the cheaper i5 2320 or i5 3330 will be fine.

EDIT: incidentally, if you have a specific purpose in mind for a component it's usually best to say in the first post - that would have saved 8 members replying to your post without all the information available...
