    dark rock 2 v dark rock pro c1 on i5 3570k

May seem odd to compare a single fan CPU cooler to a dual fan, but their prices are so closely matched it may come down to easy of installation vs performance.

What are your experiences/opinions of the following?

    Scan to day only http://www.scan.co.uk/todayonly/
be quiet! Dark Rock 2 £45.59 second generation Dark rock advanced + smaller size easier installation

    Yesterday
be quiet! Dark Rock pro C1 £46.70 + only one degree higher than the pro 2
    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/coo...pro-2-review/2

While I have your attention(: does the Pro C1 have any compatibility problems with ASUS Maximus V Gene MATX motherboard?
I've heard that because of the low fan speed bios will repeatedly kick up a fuss.

    Thanks for reading

    Re: dark rock 2 v dark rock pro c1 on i5 3570k

Just to emphasize the following is not meant to sound patronising or critical, I'm a novice at best.

Be quite have released the dark rock 2 not to be confused with the PRO 2 version, basically a beefed up single fan Dark rock advanced, which is what I'm looking to buy.

How to did you come to the decision to buy the latest Dark Rock PRO 2? as it appears to be only one degree lower in temps, than the original Pro C1 on a Intel LGA1155 CPU.http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/coo...pro-2-review/2

Was the installation relatively straightforward, are you happy with it's performance?

    Re: dark rock 2 v dark rock pro c1 on i5 3570k

If you are going for looks then perhaps this will not matter, but I just recently built a PC with a 3570k which I have overclocked to 4.4ghz @ 1.24volts, I opted for http://www.scan.co.uk/products/coole...55-1156-1366-a after reading many reviews it does not seem there is much performance gap between coolers at this sort of price range.

I have it inside a CM-690II Advanced case, all fans on lowest possible RPM and in Prime 95 over an hour it reached 71 degrees, general purpose use it idles at 18-24 degrees and in gaming it's 42-50 degrees, If you are not overly concerned about looks then I'd definitely go for the Hyper Evo 212 and save yourself some pennies as it performs pretty darn good.

As for installation, I had the motherboard outside of the case when I installed it and it is what I would suggest doing, I did not rush, took my time and it took me less than 5 minutes to get it installed, it was super duper easy.
