What is the Intel equivalent of a A10-5700 for ~£90?
I'm thinking of upgrading my Mobo+CPU+RAM based on a A10-5700, but what is the Intel equivalent?
Is there a better value alternative?
Perhaps a A4-5300 3.4GHz @ £40 is much better value?
And why is a A8-5500 3.2GHz so much more expensive @ ~£80? - when it has a lower clock speed than the A4-5300?
I only want to spend only about £150-£200 (including CPU+mobo+ddr3 ram)... Is it worth pushing the budget close to £200 for a A10-5700?
I don't do much PC gaming, so I decided I can live without a fancy graphics card, but I do like to play a lot of casual flash games (on Kongregate).

Equivalent in CPU terms or in GPU terms? For a CPU you're really going to need a Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge i3, so that's a Core i3 2000 or 3000 series, but the GPU is much worse in the Intel options. So overall the A10-5700 is by far the better option.

The A4 and A6 are dual core processors, whereas the A8 is a quad core processor. Also the A4 have 128 graphics cores, the A6 have 192 graphics cores, and the A8 has 256 graphics cores. So there are much bigger differences than the clock speed.

Yes. The A10-5700 is by far the best of the FM2 Trinity APUs. It's got CPU performance roughly equivalent to a Core i3 processor, with graphics roughly equivalent to a Radeon 6670 DDR3 (i.e. FAR better than any intel graphics). Basically if you want a cheap computer with really good all round performance and reasonable power draw you get an A10-5700. There is no sensible alternative. The A8-5500 is a potential alternative - the £15 reduction in cost brings lower overall clock speed, as well as a reduction in GPU cores from 384 to 256 (i.e. 33% less), so you do lose a fair bit in processing power. It depends how budget constricted you are. If the budget is very tight an A8-5500 is a reasonable choice, but if the budget can stretch to it I'd personally recommend an A10-5700 every time...

From what you've said, the A10-5700 does sound like the right choice for me... but perhaps what I'm upgrading from (as mentioned in the other thread) would I notice the difference between a A10-5700 and a A4-5300? (a £50 price difference).
