Two graphics cards, ten processors, ten benchmarks

We used the two most powerful single-GPU graphics cards for this test, the AMD Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 680. The ten processors we selected range from very low-end to top-of-the-line. From AMD we tested the AMD A6-5400K, AMD A10-5800K, AMD FX-6300 and AMD FX-8350. The Intel processors we used are the Intel Pentium G850, Intel Core i3 2100T, Intel Core i5 3570K, Intel Core i7 3770K, Intel Core i7 3820 and the Intel Core i7 3960X.

The charts all worked when I looked at the article, not read through fully.

In what way? Please elaborate, it would help to know where they have not got things write before I start using this information as a reference source.

Re: Two graphics cards, ten processors, ten benchmarks

I didn't really get why there were some objections to this article but today I was debating the merits of the 7970ghz edition vs the GTX680 and we looked at the Anandtech comparison to find that the 680 beat the 7970 for fps in BF3, while this article had it the other way around, so I can't see how I could trust their findings, their testing does indeed seem flawed at best and possibly biased.

TPU and Hexus says the HD7970 GHZ Edition beats the GTX680 in BF3:

Although,TBF BF3 MP is more important unlike the SP portion which is usually tested.

    Edit!!

Here is a test of the Aftermath DLC:

Re: Two graphics cards, ten processors, ten benchmarks

Which drivers do Anandtech test on for the benchmarks? I am guessing it launch ones?

Re: Two graphics cards, ten processors, ten benchmarks

TBH,an HD6990 appears to do fine in BF3,and the single GPU card which appears to do slightly better in the Aftermath DLC is an HD7970 GE. Perhaps the HD8970 and GTX780 would be more of an upgrade over an HD6990.

Yeah, Anandtech Bench use launch drivers, NOT the latest drivers which puts the 7970 above the 680 in a lot of games including BF3. Here's more up-to-date comparison, using newer drivers. http://www.techspot.com/review/603-best-graphics-cards/

Re: Two graphics cards, ten processors, ten benchmarks

Cool, I'll have a proper read through that when I can, but a quick glance at the graphs made it look like the 7970Ghz Edition is the card for 2012. I can't wait to see what the 2013 cards will be like.
