Well it's certainly a lot higher than it should be when idle. There's no way of telling what effect it will have on your CPU, as every one is different. Why not go on the ASUS forums and ask about your particular motherboard? http://vip.asus.com/forum/topic.aspx...Language=en-us
I just got a new ASUS Mobo for Xmas; now I'm not running the same board or CPU as you (i5-3570k on a P8Z77-V Pro) but I've just put mine on at 42x, left everything else alone and run the Intel Burn Test (supposedly a bigger stress than Prime95). Voltage is set at 1.09v (default), but during the test it went up to 1.21v (according to Core Temp) and on idle it is about 0.95v. I hit temps of 70 on two of the cores (the other two a fair lit less, probably due to the crappy IHS/paste that Intel use) with my fans set to minimum speed, which I'm OK with as nothing I do is likely to stress the CPUs as much.
That was through the AI Suite - when I changed it in the BIOS the voltage got upped automatically to a base 1.15V. After much playing about it appears that the power saving only works in Offset Mode - Auto. I've therefore set up a profile in AU Suite to lower the base voltage to 1.09V. This appears to work fine as it still increases when under full load.
