Just a heads up,in case anyone is doing a build. I have noticed the FX6300 has started to drop in price too.
Edit!!
Price drop confirmed:

Hmm, if the 8350 drops too much I might have to buy one
Cat I heard the FX-6300 can reach 5GHz with a little voltage bump. Would it be worth upgrading from my 1090t? I don't plan to anyway just wondering
£114.95 for 8320, if this ends up true that'll be the ultimate bargain!

CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
I would say 4.3GHZ to 4.7GHZ seems a safe range, although I suspect with a golden chip you might reach higher.
For certain games, like the Blizzard ones it would be a big upgrade, although IIRC,the FX6300 does tend to overall faster than a Phenom II X6 1090T for most games anyway.
If getting 5GHz was easy, AMD would be selling 5GHz CPUs.
But could they actually sell 5GHz CPUs if they were to have 150W or even 200W TPU? Certainly no OEM would take those. See what happens with that rumoured Centurion - FX but the lack of good binning on the 7990 doesn't bode well for AMD being able to hit 5GHz at a good TPU.
At least the Piledriver chips (some) have been reduced in price. Maybe because of Steamroller, or just increasing value against the blue team.

Well they don't make any 140W cpus any more, but you can buy 140W motherboards. So I guess that doesn't help much else I'm sure they would use that extra power (like they did last time to try and catch up a bit with Intel).
The overclocker friendly motherboards already seem to cope with ungodly amounts of power. If they sold a 200W 5GHz cpu, and got Asus and Gigabyte to certify a high end board each to take it, I'm sure a few people would buy it. It would after all be the second processor to be available at 5GHz, but IBM did it 5 years ago on a chip that can't play Crysis so people won't remember that and think it is the first
IBM used water cooling, not sure how much power they kicked out but it was also 65nm so only dual core and not directly comparable. My, was it really that long ago, I must be getting old
