    Re: AMD Kabini/Jaguar review thread

Pricewise, this chip is likely to be going up against the Atoms, the Celerons and perhaps the Pentiums. I struggle to see why they are comparing anything to an i5 or an i3 without more examples of chips that will be direct comparisons in the charts/tables.

I see the German site added a SnB Celly chip in there which is good to see, still should be an IvB for a fair comparison in todays market.

interesting that the first one to have reviews come out is the bottom end A4-5000 Kabini laptop chip not the top end one

    Re: AMD Kabini/Jaguar review thread

I suspect it is because it has better battery life.

Those are exactly the kind of comparisons i want to see. Really interesting results aswell, the 15W AMD chip actually manages to beat the 35W celeron chip in anything that can utilise the extra cores or the GPU. Great results for AMD there, such a shame other reviewers aren't drawing attention to this achievement and really highlighting how well the chip shines in its segment of the market.

I would suspect CTF is right here. If you look at the other A4 chip is has a 25W TDP and if you look at the faster E series chips they also have the same 15W TDP, so for similar battery life as the lower end chip but with most of the performance of the highest performance chip, AMD has given the reviewers the best all rounder to help demonstrate how the platform will fit in.

This, taken from Legit Reviews, is perhaps a touch ambitious:

I like that they thought of doing this though:

Switching the screen off so that it doesnt draw power and then testing the usage. Great idea!

I hate the way the PC Per guy says Jaguar... 'Jagwai-er' idiot

the article Is right - the new APU is punching above its weight , a good quality screen and an ssd in a small chassis and they will be on to a winner - A15 based chromebook is the best selling machine. why? cost and quality.

ipads maybe nice , but for the cost of 1 , you can buy many chromebooks.
