    Q6600 vs G840

    Hi,
Just wondering if the G840 is much faster than the Q6600? Would I see much of a speed difference?
    Thanks

    Re: Q6600 vs G840

I would say if he is not overclocking the Q6600 currently or can't at all, just go for the G840. If you can choose, go rather for the Ivy Bridge based Pentiums.

But CAT is right, for what purposed the new PC would be for? Cause there are few which would justify the expenses cause there would be minimal return in form of a increased performance.

I'm not overclocking the Q6600, I just wanted to get onto the pretty recent lga socket size fairly cheaply. Thanks for the advice.

Just wanted to add that the Q6600 is pretty reliable, I've used mine since 2008 running Photoshop, premiere pro and after affects. Oh and games such as BF3, Civ5 and Minecraft.
