    Disappointing AMD Kaveri?

First (un)official pictures initial benchmark results for Kaveri.

Note the single core performance, which is the same as for a 3.80 Ghz Trinity.

Should I/we believe the first pictures and results or just wait...?!?

I personally would like to see more than just one screenshot of a single benchmark (that AMD traditionally have done bad in anyway and is largely irrelevant in a world becoming quickly dominated by multithreaded software) before I assume anything.

    Edit!!

CB is FPU heavy BTW,and AFAIK most of the improvements of the SR core are not in the FPU.

ST score is on par with PD clock for clock . Total score is ~8% better on Kaveri clock for clock (thanks to doubled decoders mostly).

Sorry I wasn't aware of your Kaveri related posts in the Piledriver section.

    Re: Disappointing AMD Kaveri?

I wasn't impressed there weren't any FX-series processors on the roadmap at all this year - this was already rumoured / hinted at last year but still disappointing, I would have loved a return back to AMD on my CPU / Mobo - been without them since Core 2 Duo now.

Looking like it is going to be an 8-core Haswell-E upgrade in Q3 this year for me....expensive but will most likely be very powerful.

I wish i had your money then! I can only dream of spending that much on a processor. That's pretty much more than my entire comp budget for 3 years in one CPU.
