    Re: CPU i5 4670k

Corsair H100i isn't overly better than the H100.

    H100 refurb on Scan HERE

That said there are few heatsinks that'll match it or even out perform. Noctua NH-D14 is a popular choice but manky. A Phanteks HERE which is arguably one of the best. Multiple colour choices.

Silver Arrow - Silver looking so may not be suitable.
Silvertone Heligon - Heavy weight but again silver fins unfortunately.
Akasa Venom - If you're willing to change the fans.
Prolimatech Genesis - Black, but you'd have to supply your own fans.
Megahalems - Showing it's age but decent.
CoolerMaster V8 GTS - Not the best HSF out there but stylish.

Another option is the Silvertone Tundra TD02 (on eBay cheapest £88).

Just throwing some ideas out there
"If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0" ||| "I'm not interrupting you, I'm putting our conversation in full-duplex mode" ||| "The problem with UDP joke: I don't get half of them"
"I’d tell you the one about the CIDR block, but you’re too classy" ||| "There’s no place like 127.0.0.1" ||| "I made an NTP joke once. The timing was perfect."
"In high society, TCP is more welcome than UDP. At least it knows a proper handshake."

I would go for the h100i considering I've had good experience with corsair customer service

prolimatech megahalems is awesome. very happy with mine. Paired it with black Akasa Apache PWM fans. Works a treat.

    Re: CPU i5 4670k

I thought the general rule was to go air cooling unless your space constrained. You're still going to have to dump a fan somewhere whichever way, and at least you're not risking a leak.

Scythe Mugen 4 seems good, and comes in a bit cheaper than the NH-D14 and the like.

    Re: CPU i5 4670k

Leaks don't occur enough for them to be a problem with the latest AIOs. The phanteks or cooler master would be my first choice for performance, but the H100i looks much better.

    Re: CPU i5 4670k

It all depends on the "silicon lottery". I am currently at 4.2ghz using the h100i and it never goes above 55 when gaming. Unfortunately I cannot get 4.4ghz to be as stable as 4.2 but its probably not worth the risk for me anyway.

Hmm, OK, cheers. Know what you mean about the lottery. Fingers crossed for me then.
And this is ramping up the voltage much??
Just trying to gauge level you can get to for not stupid amounts of cash.
Don't think my case has room for the twin radiator on the H100i, so will have to go smaller cooler.
If you can 'only' get an stable increase of 800mhz then I may end up with something less.

    Re: CPU i5 4670k

Tbh, a good air cooler (phanteks, noctua, beQuiet) will probably have a much better price/temp ratio compared to the h100i.

True - but the Scan (non 'i') refurb units represent excellent value from what I can see.

    Re: CPU i5 4670k

Thats a very good price, I wanted to stay away from the AIO, I was thinking full custom water or heatsink, I went for the silver arrow sb-e in the end, although if I had the room in my case it would have been the Phanteks

    Re: CPU i5 4670k

I don't think I would get a refurbished AIO, I feel there's probably a reason they only offer such a short warranty. If you have the money for a new H100(i) and better fans, go for it for the look if that's what you like, but they don't perform better than air coolers
