Intel Core i7-5960X, Core i7-5930K and Core i7-5820K Haswell-E CPUs Specs Leaked

    Intel Core i7-5960X Extreme Haswell-E

To begin with, the upcoming Haswell-E will have one X-type processor or the Extreme processor, and two K-series or the unlock processors. The Intel Core i7-5960X Extreme Haswell-E processor, being the flagship CPU, features a total of 8 cores / 16 threads and has Hyper Threading. It has a base clock of 3.GHz with 20MB cache and will support DDR4 memory. It will also support multiple graphics card configuration with the first two cards running at x16 speed and the third one running at x8 speed. It will also have a maximum PCI Express link speed of 8GT/s and a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 140W.

    Intel Core i7-5930K and Core i7-5820K Haswell-E

The Extreme processor is followed by two Core i7 processors with unlock multipliers – the Intel Core i7-5930K and Core i7-5820K Haswell-E. Both processors features 6 cores / 12 threads, also with Hyper Threading, and has a base clock of 3.5GHz and 3.3GHz respectively. The Intel Core i7-5930K and Core i7-5820K will also support DDR4 memory and a memory frequency of 2133MHz. Both processors are somewhat the same, but they differ in the PCI Express configuration. The Core i7-5930K will have 2 x16 + 1 x8 configuration, similar with the Core i7-5960X; meanwhile the Core i7-5820K will only support 1 x16 + 1 x8 + 1 x4 multiple graphics card configuration.

Sounds interesting. What do you think guys?
Is it a worthy upgrade from current Ivy Bridge-E processors or not?
Do you think upgrading from X79 to X99 is a good idea?

You know, the usual suspects for systems like these, like video editing, 3d rendering and the likes.

In that case no, wait for the Xeon with the full compliment of cores.

Yeah but will it run crysis???

Lets just hope it was better than Gddr 4 which was hardly used and made little difference over Gddr 3.

Despite the similarity in namings, there's a lot more differences between DDR3 and DDR4 than between GDDR3 and GDDR4. Of course, there are virutally no everyday compute tasks that are noticably impacted by memory bandwidth, so for the high end Intel platforms the switch up to DDR4 from quad channel DDR3 is unliklely to show significant performance benefits. Where the difference will be keenly felt is in memory bandwidth limited situations - i.e. where you have a powerful IGP on the processor die. So, AMD APUs, basically

You know, if I were Intel, I'd seriously consider licensing Maxwell GPU technology from nvidia and incorporating it onto an i3 die. That's assuming they've got the ability to swap in and out modular blocks of IP, of course - they might not be that far along in integration yet. But an i3 using DDR4 RAM and with a GeForce IGP? That'd make a sweet steam box...

Maxwell GPU built into the CPU would be pretty killer

I was suprised that the 5930k isn't octo-core considering the current line up (e.g. the 4960X & the 4930k) - that said the 5820k PCI-E configuration looks a little crippled

I'm wondering if Intel are concerned that the octo-core CPU's are going to be eating into the Xeon's target market (e.g. servers & high-end workstations)

Im a little suprised by the high TDP of 140 watts for these monsters considering what node they are on. I know that the people who have the money to buy these arent going to be bothered by a few more watts in there leccy bils but still seems a bit high.

DDR4 is based on the same sort of technology as GDDR5

Why do you think Nvidia were so keen to build an x86 CPU Now they are going to have to stick with ARM, which is nice but is unlikely to ever make a Steam box.

Ooh, just imagine - a reasonably powerful i3/i5 and a full-fat 750ti should take a bit less power than one of those 8-core monsters, put it on a mini-ITX board (or smaller, since you don't need any more expansion slots) with a sealed liquid cooler, and you've got a powerful 1080p gaming machine that's also the size of a shoebox and rather quiet. That would really scare AMD!

10W less than the previous gen 3970X, so not exactly welcome back
