    Modern CPUs and current

    Wonder if there is any list which tracks CPU current intake.

    The voltage is regulated but the current is pretty much stable, hence variable thermal output.

    Any ideas? Google fed me nothing...

    Reason: undervoltage on a AsRock MoBo using [Primary Plane Current Limit].

    Have you tried Throttlestop? It shows an estimated momtary wattage, which could be converted back to a current by dividing it by the appropriate voltage (Power = Current (I) * Voltage). However, you will see the voltage is quite variable in the same application.

    I maybe should mention I am not sure that that is the proper way to undervolt, I have an Asus mobo with that option and I'd be looking at changing vcore instead to undervolt. Those may be high cutoffs.

    So does Core Temp. Will take my time and calculate it.

    I have two AsRock mobos, once has Primary Plane Current Limit, Short/Long Duration Power limit (I assume you can set here the total consumption limit for your CPU in Watts) and also voltage options to control CPU Offset and such. The other MoBo (cheaper H61 ITX) only has the current limiter and the power limiter.

    You'd think so wouldn't you? It's actually something to do with a maximal wattage draw before the mobo decides you are trying to fry your CPU and shuts off. Something in Intel Corp's specs on those processors and their engineering requirements.
