Can't go wrong with either. Unless there's a great deal of detail needed on each and every choice, why not create one thread with all your spec questions, that way we can see how the whole system works together and you won't be accused of spamming threads to boost post count
Well one of them doesn't exist, so that helps narrow things down a bit.
I can only assume he means what's the best between a top consumer level i5 and a consumer level i7.
If you have the money then maybe the i7, if you want the performance gain and the extra 2 to 3 fps gain then an i7, i7 also wins in terms of bragging rights (I have an i7, now bow! ) but otherwise the i5 would be just fine. Of course it also depends on what games you want to play, there might even be a game that's currently available that will make the extra expense of an i7 really worth shelling out for, otherwise save some money on your CPU and then use that saving to get a better GPU.
many thanks for your help guys think i will go with i5 4690k. Then If I need to upgraded later i can go to broadwell cpu.
Yeah if its just gaming take the i5 every time.
Maybe in a couple of years when more games really make use of multithreading there will be call for the i7 but as it stands there's not the need.
He's probably already bought it by now

Add me
The 4790k used to have quite a price premium compared with the 4770k but no it looks as if they are equal in pricing. In fact, when I bought my 4790k it was actually on sale and cheaper than the 4770k.
It's sad to see the 4770K SO dear £250+ I bought mine for £209 two years ago.
Perhaps stocks are running down for the imminent arrival of Broadwell K.
