    best cpu for motherboard?

    i got given this Asus M4A87TD EVO board and want to buy a fast cpu but funds are a bit tight so need advice what i can get

    Plenty of places on the 'bay to pick up a Phenom II X6 for < £100. Alternatively, you could gamble, go for a Phenom II X4 960T (the T is important ) and try to unlock the extra cores. Personally I'd just get a proper X6, a decent cooler, and overclock it as far as possible (that board has an 8-phase VRM so should provide good clean power for all your overclocking exploits )

    I'm looking to buy a new CPU aswell mate, was looking at a FX 6300 and 8350 but probably will buy the 6300 because in games there isn't a huge difference.

    You won't be able to run either of those with the motherboard mentioned in the first post.
