Name the thousand things wrong with this picture
Re: Name the thousand things wrong with this picture
- naked CPU
- on a wet, natural surface
- not linear against the table :)
- can't zoom in on my current device for further clues...(delidded or visible signs of damage via 'usage' or improper handling)?

Re: Name the thousand things wrong with this picture
I see nothing wrong with this picture.
Re: Name the thousand things wrong with this picture
Interesting choice of motherboard.....
Re: Name the thousand things wrong with this picture
It's a terrible photo. Naff composition, lighting, focus, exposure...
Re: Name the thousand things wrong with this picture
is it an ebay sellers pic that says 'new CPU never used'?
Re: Name the thousand things wrong with this picture
Looks like a lot of scratches/scuffs on for a CPU.....almost like it's been used as a hockey puck.
Re: Name the thousand things wrong with this picture
I could only find 994 so I won't waste everyone's time posting an incomplete answer.

2.66 GHZ chip so it is either mobile or a very expensive Xeon

Probably an i7 920. I was just saying to someone yesterday that Intel chips seem fairly indestructible and I'd have no problem buying a 2nd hand CPU but there are limits... (the context for which was the fact that you can grab westmere (32nm) 6 core Xeons for less than £50, though the motherboards are nowhere near as easy to get hold of or as cheap).
Re: Name the thousand things wrong with this picture
Its Upside Down :)
is this from Ebay then or just an old one of yours

Neither. It's a very cheap i7.

It's absolutely an i7 920, pretty obvious from the i7 920 product code written on it.
And yes, I've got both a 6-core Westmere Xeon in an X58 motherboard that cost me over £250 new, and still goes for around that much on Ebay. Great combo.
