Pentium G3258 Overclock Qs?
I have overclocked my g3258 to 4.3ghz and my cache ratio to 4.1ghz , could i get away with putting cache clock 200mhz above and core clock as it seems 4.1ghz is the maximum I have set my cache ratio minimum to 8x and my max to 41x is this OK for the minimum. If anyone has a Pentium K and knowledge of it would b helpful as I'm not totally sure if 8x is the minimum and 200mhz out of sync is the limit but can you over clock 200mhz cache above core first time OCing so. On cpuid my L1 Cache is marked as trial is this correct
Re: Pentium G3258 Overclock Qs?
Even a quick Google search advises the following:
"If your CPU is having problems going past 4.3 or 4.4 GHz, try reducing the uncore speed to 3.4 or 3.5 GHz to see if that frees up additional headroom for the cores to use. Any performance lost with lower uncore speeds is more than returned via higher clockspeeds."
Some other Cinebench scores:
4.3Ghz Core/ 4.0Ghz Uncore Max Temp 79C Cinebench Score: 7.33
4.4Ghz Core/ 3.6Ghz Uncore Max Temp 82C Cinebench Score: 7.45
4.5Ghz Core/ 3.6Ghz Uncore Max Temp 83C Cinebench Score: 7.61
I would go with the cache clock speed as low as 32x (3200Mhz) just to see if you can squeeze a bit more out of the cores.
