I thought this meant that only old processors were effected, but the original Core series didn't have an 8th generation. So whilst they've listed 45 & 32nm i3,5,7 processors explicitly, it seems all Core CPUs are effected? Looks like my old Nehalem might be ok...Intel® Core™ i3 processor (45nm and 32nm)
Intel® Core™ i5 processor (45nm and 32nm)
Intel® Core™ i7 processor (45nm and 32nm)
Intel® Core™ M processor family (45nm and 32nm)
2nd generation Intel® Core™ processors
3rd generation Intel® Core™ processors
4th generation Intel® Core™ processors
5th generation Intel® Core™ processors
6th generation Intel® Core™ processors **
7th generation Intel® Core™ processors **
8th generation Intel® Core™ processors **
Oh wait, the Nehalem was 45nm. I guess that's all iX processors then.
Is that actually useful? I mean if they don't patch all the processors, and assuming that people could do something or anything, what would be left to do? I don't get it, it would have to be perfect already, and presumably these patch functions if they cause either degraded performance or more performance don't actually matter?
In other News, I am very happy not to have an *** ntel CPU at this point. The media seems to have ignored this problem, largely because almost all software (bar GRC) is so bad few could actually notice change
Bad!

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
Don't think AMD are immune from these bugs. They've been attracting less attention, but they have been affected by some already.
