    Re: How long is your CPU list in main rig?

    Heh, my somewhat flighty approach to PC use means "main rig" is a bit of a grey area for me - whilst I've occasionally had only one PC, or one PC that I've used significantly more than another, I've usually had several PCs running that have rotated in primacy.

    But, fwiw, this is probably as close as I can get. Where a rig had CPU upgrades I've denoted the CPU progression with ->. Where I mostly used a laptop I've only listed the laptop CPU; for times where I had both a desktop and a laptop that I used equally I've included the laptop in brackets after the desktop CPUs.

    286 12Mhz
    Duron 1200 -> Duron 1600
    Athlon XP 2600+ Thoroughbred B
    Turion TL-52
    Q6600 -> Pentium E5300 -> Q6600
    Phenom II X4 905e (Pentium SU4100)
    AMD A10-4600m

    But that's probably not even half the PC setups I've had over the years...

    Pentium III 450
    Athlon XP 2500+
    Phenom II X4 920

    that's it. each has lasted 8 years or so between upgrades.
    only see the need to upgrade when it breaks.

    Crumbs - <scratches head>

    Zilog Z80B

    Intel 486

    Several AMD processors (about 4)

    then back to Intel, going via VIA for SFF machines with Zotac motherboards

    Many of the CPUs I've owned I've long forgotten, but the ones I remember are these:

    Motorola MC6809E (Dragon 32, my very first)
    Z80 (ZX Spectrum)
    Zilog Z80 (Amstrad CPC464/CPC6128)
    Motorola 68000 (Commodore Amiga 500)
    Motorola 68EC020 (Commodore Amiga 1200)
    Cyrix 6x86 "P166+"
    Celeron 366 (2 of these @ 550MHz on an Abit BP6 was a slightly unstable wet dream come true)
    Pentium 4 (3.4GHz...wowzer!)
    Core2Quad Q6600
    Core2Quad Q9550
    i7-3820
    i7-6850K
    i7-7820X (today)
