Me neither. Windows 7 was much more transparent and controllable.
And me, regarding Win10.
I'm more interested in Linux support, since MS encouraged/forced me to switch.
I wonder how much it would cost to hire someone to make unofficial Win7 drivers.
Probably way too much in that it would need to be crowdfunded to realistically have a prospect of success due to the amount of knowledge and expertise needed, but I'd think it would theoretically be possible.
I'm also curious as to the Linux support, but I'm assuming that there are already people thinking about and working on that.
I don't think it's necessarily drivers as much as instruction updates and other optimisations within the OS. AMD already do a chipset driver for Win 7. The thing with official OS support is that they'd need to do a much greater depth of testing. MS have basically said "we're not making any changes to Win 7", which means that if Win 7 doesn't support a capability of Ryzen, AMD will never be able to provide it.Quote:
