From 4770k @ 4.3 to 1700X @ 3.8 to 2700x @ Stock in BF1, plus 3800x @ Stock

Hi All,

I have just picked up a 1700 system and thought that you might be interested in some of the comparisons.
SMT is enabled, and using latest BIOS.

First up utilisation.

The 4770k is in Green and the 1700 in blue.
I'll post some FRAPS data shortly

OK - Here are three random 60 second runs from Amiens. I have averaged the results.
What does this tell us ?

Well the 1700X in raw numbers has more than equalled the 4770k at lower utilisation.
I can tell you that they feel very similar, although I lost all of my settings on BF1 when I moved to the new rig and the new one feels....different. Sometimes choppy ? Take that with a massive pinch of salt though. The stats say otherwise.

I don't know why this bench contradicts the others. Perhaps it's the DX11.
the difference is very minor however.

And Finally ! Crysis 3

In all I have achieved exactly what I wanted. A new CPU on a new platform that meets or exceeds the gaming chops of my 4770K with huge increases in productivity.

It seems like a decent upgrade especially with your old Core i7 being clocked higher too.

Seems to be an issue with your image host/hosts - I tried to view some of them directly and nothing showed up.

EDIT: or maybe not? I'll raise it with the rest of the team, but it might be worth checking with your image host too to make sure they're not blocking the embed or something...

EDIT 2: it could also be because Hexus is served over HTTPS now, and the pictures are HTTP...

EDIT 3: just tested with IE (which will still let you view mixed content) and sure enough if I force the browser to download content regardless of security I get all the pictures. You'll need to investigate whether your image hosts can serve over HTTPS, I'm afraid.

I'd recommend uploading them to Imgur, which does serve over HTTPS. You can upload by URL too, so giving it each of the links on the current image host to grab it from rather than uploading them from your PC again.

Just make sure to click "Get share links" from the drop-down menu (when mouse-hovering over the image area once uploaded) to see the actual links you'd want to use.

Greenshot (http://getgreenshot.org/) would be useful for this too as it can grab things from the clipboard (so first r-c on the image and copy it), and then upload them to to Imgur.

Here you go Amiens on 2700x - Very similar to 1700x but feels a LOT faster and smoother. Of course this is at stock vs the OC 1700x
I think this smoothness is due to the minimum FPS numbers which do show an 8% improvement.
