I7 3770(None K) vs I7 8700K paired with GTX 1080 at 3440X1440 - Bottleneck
Hi,
First of all my system:
i7 3770
32GB 1333mhz ram
Xtreme gaming GTX1080
I have seen a lot of reviews of the 8700k but mostly at 1080P, i play on 3440*1440 and i'm not sure if at this resolution i will notice any difference between 3770 and 8700K?
I correctly don't have a G-sync or high refresh monitor however i might upgrade in the future so i'm aiming at 60FPS.
BF1 - at this resolution (Ultra settings) sits between 45-80FPS but the experience is not smooth if i adjust the settings to med with a few on high and ultra i can get a very smooth experience and FPS sits around 100FPS with minimal dips to 80FPS.
It might seems like 1st world problems, but its important to me.
I guess my questions is, is my CPU (3770) is a bottleneck for my GPU and if so, upgrading my Mobo, ram and CPU will elevate the bottleneck at 3440*1440?
Thanks.

If you're having to drop settings then your GPU is the bottleneck, so no point increasing CPU really.

I have a Xeon E3 1230 V2/Core i7 3770 and have a GTX1080 and a qHD screen. Here is my review from a few months ago:

I am still GPU limited at qHD - the only game I might have some limitations on the CPU side is PS2(and Fallout 4 in settlements).
However,at 4K I expect you to be more GPU limited, even if BF1 MP can push CPUs.
