    AMD Pro vs non-Pro CPUs

    Hi all,

I recently got a A6 9500 AM4 CPU off ebay to update a BIOS on a motherboard. All fine.

However, I noticed that the chip I received, according to the part number, is a A6 9500 PRO, rather than the non-pro boxed/oem version.

According to all specification I can find, the chips appears identical to the non-pro version. AMD's site waffles on about being optimised for professional and commercial use, and including features such as encryption and virtualisation....... but as said the specs appear identical to the non-pro part.

Is there actually any difference, or is the only difference the part number printed on it?

    Cheers!

I think the pro versions have ECC memory enabled.
