Of course, r5 5600x ,rtx 3080, msi b550 gaming edge wifi mobo, 16gb 3600mhz ram and a 500gb sn550 ssd, those should be all the main parts, if you have anymore questions, feel free to let me know!

    Re: Got my r5 5600x!

Congrats! Always exciting getting new hardware

I'm hoping to get a 5600x too but waiting until I can get my hands on a GPU first as that seems to be the limiting factor for a new build!

Although I think I'm more excited about buying everything and building than actually using it once it's been built!!

Congratulations! That's a huge upgrade. I'm looking to upgrade my 2600 to that when prices come down a little and stock is actually available

    Re: Got my r5 5600x!

Been trying to get a 5600x to move on from my 3600. Can't believe I sat on it for so long while a major retialer had thousands in stock. Just like me to wait for them all to be gone before deciding I wanted one :/

    Re: Got my r5 5600x!

Is it really a worthwhile upgrade going from 3600 to 5600x I doubt you'd actually notice much real world difference.

What games will you be running and at what resolution? I'd be interested in hearing how that GPU and CPU combo perform because I am looking at upgrading to that GPU and that CPU too.

Account is too new to link it, but HardwareUnboxed just did a video comparing 5000 CPUs at different resolutions. They didn't do 3080, but if you see the 3090 numbers, there's such a tiny difference there and 3080 won't be as big a difference as that.

    It's called Ryzen 5 5600X vs. Ryzen 7 5800X vs. Ryzen 9 5900X & 5950X: GPU Scaling Benchmark.

    What cooler are you using?
A big factor on these new generation cpu's (intel as well) is improved boost behaviour, cooler performance has become more important to sustain higher boost speeds even if you are not overclocking.
https://youtu.be/JkoULK8crzU?t=325 no need to go crazy, but we're already seeing a 300~350mhz lower sustained boost on the stock cooler vs a basic decent air cooler eg hyper212 or similar, 120mm fan tower cooler around £30
