I had the same with my Ryzen 7 3700X which I got for around £215 off Amazon. The box was damaged but it all seemed fine when I opened the box.

My mate got their Ryzen 9 3900 non-X bundle off them. However,I am uncertain if they include a CPU cooler with it,so I hope you have one to hand. I might try and fiddle wround with getting the latency as low on your RAM kit as possible. Ideally Zen2 and Zen3 like the DDR4 RAM at between 3200MHZ~3600MHZ. Official DDR4 support is upto 3200MHZ.

Loads of their deals went very hot on HUKD because they were really decent value. They have been consistently one of the cheapest places to buy Ryzen CPUs(especially as part of their bundles) for the last 12 months. I even remember back when the Ryzen 5 3600 prices went silly and went above £200,you could still order them as part of AWD-IT bundles for £160~£180. For the last year or so they were the only company to sell the Ryzen 9 3900 non-X in bundles, and had it for between £315 to £330,even when the Ryzen 9 3900X was going well over £400,and it was priced the same as others had for their Ryzen 7 3800X stock(without a CPU cooler). You can basically get a Ryzen 9 3900 non-X and a decent X470 motherboard for just over £400 on there.

One of the best deals I saw during the summer, was when they had a Ryzen 5 3600 for £160,a decent B450(for below RRP) and a free 240GB SSD thrown in too. Other retailers were charging £180+ for the CPU alone!

Yet they have hardly any stock at the best of times - even tried adding one to a basket and it wouldn't add. AWD-IT had the Ryzen 7 5800X bundles with the MSI B550M Mortar for as low as £480 a few weeks ago and that deal was on and off for nearly 2 weeks! Even when it rose to £500 last week or so,it still worked out as £370,which makes it slightly cheaper on a per core basis than a Ryzen 5 5600x. They were basically the cheapest new Ryzen 7 5800X CPUs in the country for a few weeks,as the B550M Mortar was £130,which made the Ryzen 7 5800X £350. The only cheaper deal I saw was Currys Clearance with an Ebay code with damaged box ones.

The OP was talking about CPU prices, and I will tell you right now, their CPU prices have consistently been decent.

Their Ryzen 9 3900 non-X prices were even fantastic during the Zen2/Zen3 CPU shortage in the UK last year. When they had stock of their Ryzen 5 3600 CPUs,they charged £160~£180 in their bundles not the £200+ other retailers were trying to charge.

For example consistently they have been selling Ryzen 9 3900 non-X bundles with decent B450/X470 motherboards for just over £400.

    Also I tracked Ryzen 7 5800X prices.

Currys were the first to drop them from the £420~£440 price to £400 due to a code last month. OcUK dropped it to £380 or £390 after that.

AWD-IT then followed by selling a Ryzen 7 5800X bundle with an MSI B550M Mortar a few weeks later for £480! It hit over 1700C on HUKD.

They also had the Ryzen 5 5600X and MSI Bazooka for £400 which was bang on RRP for both parts at the same time. But when you could get a better CPU and motherboard for £80,you can understand how good a deal it was. Then even when they increased pricing to £500 it was still pretty decent relative to other places.

This is a CPU thread - look at the title. You then you insinuated the OP were ripped off by showing some GPU price, which is irrelevant. Plus you did after they had already placed their purchase.

I just pointed out they have very good deals, which can be proven by looking on HUKD and various other places. Then you say its PR because you didn't realise over the last 12 months they had good deals.

    Re: 5600x vs 3700x vs 3900x

Fair enough, but I stand by my comment that their gpu prices are unreasonable. I would put them at the "blatant gouging" level on the scalpometer.

Yes they are not great for GPUs,and their Intel CPU prices are not fantastic. AMD GPUs are the "best" priced on Currys so far from a quick glance but AMD is worse than Nvidia. Nvidia for FE is Scan, only because Nvidia use them as a partner.

    Edit!!

For Intel CPU prices,Scan and CCL Computers, can be the lowest but it weirdly varies between model.
