Re: AMD Ryzen 5000G series review thread

Finally, I was almost tempted to reach out to some old contacts in HK to see if they could ship me one of these out to replace my 3400G...

Re: AMD Ryzen 5000G series review thread

Has anyone seen any information regarding the GE series?
I was aiming to get a Ryzen 35W CPU for a HTPC build.

Had hoped to see them at the same time the G series was made available to retail, but can't find them anywhere or any mention of them.

My next plan is to go with a 5600G and run it on the lower cTDP setting so it doesn't go above 45W but not sure the motherboard I have supports this.

EDIT - Just discovered, to use the lower cTDP setting, it's done within Ryzen Master, not the BIOS as I was expecting.
If your board can do voltage controls then there is a good chance it supports what is called ECO-Mode within Ryzen Master.

I think if I wait for the GE series I may die beforehand and I've had parts ready to use since Christmas so my itchy trigger finger is gonna go for it.
