So, in the last month I have been all over the place, meetings here there and everywhere. I have been to San Francisco for IDF, and been spending too much time in London - and other places in the UK. I think I must have racked up nearly 2,000 miles in the last month driving all over the place.
As you may have noticed, there has been some changes around the forums - this is to get ready for something cool. I think now I can tell you the cool thing....
HEXUS is close to launching generation 3 of the website. Iain and the team have been working on this site for nearly a year, and it is a ground up re-write. We have taken in to account a heap of your comments and views. We have aimed to execute nearly all of them!
This is a major milesstone for HEXUS, its finally migration of information in to a central database, as well as a step towards what we aim to deliver to you, the reader.
The next steps are being planned out now, but should be easier with what we are going to be bringing to you soon. We had to do the forum launch last night, since to be honest without it we would have had to play catch up.
Tommorow we have an engineer going down to the datacentre installing some new HEXUS servers - infact 3 servers, a load balancer, another IPKVM, and a new switch. This will all be plugged in to the APC Power management unit which is already there.
This will bring HEXUS up to 6 high end servers, 1 switch, 1 load balancer, a new IPKVM, APC Power unit.
It's going to rock guys.
Some specs, between the boxes we have:
13 'cores'
18GB RAM
1.86TB Disks (not all useable - note, raid)
10U of Servers..
Some heavy kit...![]()
