Phase 7: Heave ho - its up!
So, I just spent some time putting the TV on the wall - and wanted to do a straight aerial feed.
I left the cable for the power hanging over (since a 90 degree plug won't fit in my hole in the wall.)
Powered it up, and it worked first time :)

(before anyone asks, that cable is now gone!)
Here you can see the bracket painted:

I also had to decide what cables to run, since I am getting a new Media Centre for Downstairs tommorow - I thought it would be apt to move my other media centre upstairs. I also wanted some 360 action in the bedroom - nothing better than playing and relaxin'!
So - I had to run the following cables:
VGA -> DVI (Media Centre)
Component -> 360
Aerial -> Digital TV Feed
Power -> Duh!
Media Centre USB Jobby - so I can use a Media Centre Remote, and also so I can use the Keyboard in Bed :D
Phono link to the Media Centre so that it can have audio out via the TV.

The main snag I had to do was cut the plug off the mains lead and wire in a new one.
No SCART, since I doubt I will bother (will put my HD SKY box in the wardrobe when done.)
The cabling in the wardrobe will look messy, since I am waiting for the sparky this weekend to come and do some cabling. All of this can be routed nicely after that.
I am planning on putting a Communciation Cabinet on the top shelf (6U max!), with a patch panel (2 ports to every room in the house), a switch, a phone line, 2 aerial sockets (one to feed Sky upstairs, and one for normal Aerial). I will move my ADSL modem and WiFi stuff in to it too. There will also be my 16 Port JFS516 which I picked up off eBay last week.

I have my NAS box in the cellar and my Synology box too (both too loud to be in the house).
Lets hope that my 360 controllers work through walls, and I get no interference from the power being so close to the other cables - only time will tell.
If this does work it means I need to put a switch in straight away and run a cable back in to the loft from it so I can have my office system online :( I have no mains in my loft at the moment so not sure how I can going to work this one out :)
