I voted as 16:9 as that is what I have at home.
At work I have a dual 16:10 setup though.

Re: What is your main screens' aspect ratio?

I much prefer 16:10 (why dont they call it 8:5?) however i have 2 x 16:9 philips monitors i picked up cheap from ebuyer in their sales recently. Cant justify the extra cost for 16:10.

Re: What is your main screens' aspect ratio?

4:3 on a NEC Spectraview 2180 (bargain basement, couple of stuck sub-pixels).

I'd love a widescreen monitor 1920x1200 for gaming. However I agree that even if you are an IPS snob (I am) 1920x1050 monitors can be had for much cheapness these days. LG do some very cheap screens, however some IPS screens from them aren't true 8-bit colour per channel, but fudged 6-bit+AFRC. Not really why I would buy an IPS display.

16:9 as there was far more choice in that aspect ratio when I was looking to replace my previous dual 17" 4:3 monitors

Not a big fan of 16:10 tbh.

    I've got a 16:9 2048x1152 resolution Samsung, it's brilliant IMO

Re: What is your main screens' aspect ratio?

16 x 9, but its almost impossible to get a laptop with 16x10 now for any sort of reasonable money.

Re: What is your main screens' aspect ratio?

Wish 16:10 was a bit more common nowadays, they seem to be a little more pricy and less available. Anyway I have two 16:9 monitors.

Re: What is your main screens' aspect ratio?

I have my monitor set to 1440x900 (16:10), if I up the resolution any higher text onscreen, even when I wear my glasses is to small and I cant read it and headaches / eyestrain starts.

However when I am gaming I use standard 1080p (1920x1080 - 16:9)) which is the maximum my monitor will display.

Re: What is your main screens' aspect ratio?

I was agonizing between the two for few weeks, finally decided in favor of more mainstream 16:9 (movies, games).

I'm building all in one system (pc/tv/htpc) so couldn't compromise on screen real estate or pixel pitch. Also wanted it to be IPS panel. Having browsed through numerous threads I have shortlisted Dell U2711 and Hazro HZ27WC (glass).
