    AOC IPS monitor

    Hi guys,

I've been looking at getting an IPS monitor for my new gaming rig. Until recently, I was pretty set on the LG IPS236V but only yesterday I saw an AOC IPS monitor.

Does anyone have any experience with these monitors, or any recommendations?

    LG IPS226V
    (I'd get the 23" model)
LG IPS235V (any difference between this and the 6V?)
    AOC I2353FH

    Thanks

    Re: AOC IPS monitor

IPS monitors and gaming don't generally go hand in hand. However for people like me who are light gamers, we don't care/notice the input lag.

Anyway, I was also interested in that monitor too and there was a pretty good review of it here:
    http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/...oc_i2353ph.htm

I didn't go for it in the end as I'm still waiting for a worthwhile upgrade that doesn't cost a truck.

the input lag difference between an ips and TN panel is minimal at best these days mate a few years ago yes it was noticable but a good ips monitor you will not notice it all.

i have a Dell u2311h and i have never seen input lag on mine while gaming it is beautfully smooth.

the screen can be a little bright when reading though.

The LG IPS235V is the newer version of the LG IPS236V but there don't seem to be any available anywhere!

There are in depth reviews on the AOC and both mention the input lag. Personally I don't play FPS games so I won't notice it though, and even if I did I'm probably not "Pro" enough to notice it.

Maybe some people are more prone to ghosting in images?

I've spent all day looking for one. I think I'll opt for the IPS225V. What difference does 1.5" inches make? (no jokes, please)

I went round my friend's today also and played a bit with his IPS226V. No noticable lag or ghosting.

    Re: AOC IPS monitor

When I downgraded from 24" to 21.5", I certainly noticed the decrease in size. However, I got used to it pretty fast. If you're not downgrading you probably won't notice it. Text is relatively smaller though so depending on your age/eyesight, you may encounter slight problems.

    Re: AOC IPS monitor

The AOC is a great monitor if you can live with a mixture of blacklight bleed and IPS glow, mine is unfortunately going back, backlight bleed in a dark room is quite honestly appaling, some people may be able to live with it but i cant, will just be sticking to my dual benq G2220HD's for the time being

Just a little warning if anyone is planning on watching alot of movies on this screen
