Hi all,
I got my new 27 inch monitor for christmas(dell u2711)
The problem is that at the full resolution The text looks all broken up. Is there some way of fixing this without resorting to making the text loads bigger?
Thanks

Change the DPI to 100 and higher
If you go to display in the Control Panel there' sloads of options. The obvious one if the text is actually too small is to go for the medium-sized icons and text, which makes things bigger without changing the resolution - that's how my family use the 1080p 24" screen in our living room.
Otherwise there's various options, including increasing your font DPI like Pancake suggests, or perhaps messing with ClearType options if it's the kerning / aliasing of the font that's a problem rather than the size.
p.s. the actual DPI of a u2711 is ~109! So you could just set your font DPI to that and it should help (a lot!)

I`d changed the DPI before and it had made the text too big then lol
I`ve changed the connection from DVI to DP and now the font is a lot clearer Also set the DPI to 109 as well
CTRL + mouse wheel up/down.
I tend to do this on a few websites where the font is tiny and I have trouble reading some of the words due to their horrible colour schemes.
Aye been doing that now
THe problem was more the text wasnt being rendered properly changing to display port seems to have fixed this though
Above 1920x1200 resolution and for 120Hz monitors you need dual link DVI cables to handle the extra data. Display port does the same thing as you discovered.
