I'm looking at monitors, what are the budget 27" models like for gaming?
I'm wondering if a higher spec 24" monitor would be better suited, budget of around £200/£250 if possible.

Usually, monitors above 24" are 2560x1440, but I doubt you're going to get a 27", with that resolution, in the £200-£250 category. You could probably find some with a 1080p resolution but then you'd be better off getting a 24" tbh, just for the higher pixel density.
Yeh thats what I was thinking, they are the same resolution as the 24" monitors.
The 2560x1440 monitors are like £500 and I'd need a graphics card update to power resolutions that high I'd imagine.
Just bought the U2412M based on C5th advice. It's a gorgeous bit of kit 1920x1200 e-IPS. They're usually around 250 but sometimes appear on offer at Dell and other places.
I use mine for office work and gaming, and it's a parsec infront of my old LG TN panel.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
Yeh I'm swaying towards the smaller but better quality, hopefully I can push to a decent Dell. What difference does LED make or LCD anything noticable? I should just go google it.
I have a one of these, 1200p 16:10. Good gaming monitor for those on a budget.

I can recommend the Dell U2412M, as it is an IPS screen the colours and viewing angles are a lot better than your standard TN panel. unfortunately with the 27" monitors you cannot yet get a decent quality 2560X1440 monitor for your budget, however, if you can wait and want to save a bit more I can really recommend a Hazro or Dell U2711.
I have a 23 inch Dell IPS and can totally recommend Dells IPS... as others have said, going from a TN panel, looking at games is a different world.
Also if you really want a budget IPS screen then you can get them for £100 now from LG - granted, not at 24 inches though. The LG IPS225V is a 21.5 inch model but apparently with a very nice picture considering the money according to this write up here.
LED simply means the type of backlight for these monitors - they are still LCD monitors, just LED backlit. Not to be confused with actual "true" OLED monitors, which are incredibly expensive (but probably coming down in price this year, at least somewhat).
I am look at Asus VE276Q 27" LED Monitor it has some very good reviews but its only 1920x1080
