I used to love iiyamma back in days of convetional monitors, but now I mostly just look at Dell or Samsung monitors.
I see iiyamma as budget monitors these days, there just not as known as they used to be.
It bit like how nokia gone.
Agree. IIyamma are good workhorse monitors, but not very exciting.
Hmm, a workhorse implies overall good quality to me; budget monitor leads me to believe the opposite. I have no knowledge of IIyamma, were do they sit with regards to build quility and value for money when compared to Smsung or acer?
I've had a iiyama E2209HDS for a few years & it's great monitor
When I was looking for a new monitor, a couple weeks back, I was asking for advice on several forums for suggestions on monitors. Due to my budget Dell was out of the picture, yet 3/4 replies told me to get a Dell. In the end I got an IPS from LG, was suggested by someone who has been helpful to me in the past on that particular forum. I must admit I am very happy with the LG.
Though apart from asking for advice, I trawled forums, and e-tailer sites looking for information on monitors. I almost bought an iiyama though in the end decided on a this LG. From what I gathered looking about they are a very good brand, or used to be and may still be trading on their built up reputation. Though did not see many complaints from people who had bought them.
The reason that I will proberly buy a Dell when I buy another monitor is because I use one at uni and I am rather happy with it there, and by the time I get around to buying another monitor, or 2 I should be able to afford the price tag. Though I really am not sure why they are so highly reguarded. I guess many people use them in their working environment and like buying what they know? Perhaps its the zero dead pixel guarantee?
