    New Asus PA248Q IPS monitor

Just seen the above monitor on Asus's UK website. Its an addition to their ProArt series very similar to the older PA246Q. This one has apparently LED blacklighting, does this make it better in any way?

Do you think any of these worth the extra cash over a Dell U2412M?

The PA246Q costs ~£420, and I guess the newer model will be more - so double the price of the Dell.

The ProArts are superior panels with wider colour gamut and come pre-calibrated, worth every penny for professional graphics use, but unnecessary for home use.

The LED backlighting is principally an energy-saving feature, and shouldn't affect picture quality if properly balanced (which it should be on a £400+ monitor!).

I appreciate the reply Dennis...I'm gonna buy my new monitor in 2-3 weeks time. I hope by then the new 24ich pro art model will be available abd hopefuly below the 400 quid mark....If not I think I'll go for the PA238Q
