Like i said before - make sure you do your homework 1st!!! I have found its normally the settings to do with ' sharp ' that can make a monitor crispy clear, and i mean crispy clear with TEXT! No TV is of use if it cannot do this. Not for 100% pc usage that is!

Odd that some people have trouble with theirs.

I just connected my HDTV to my computer and did nothing with the TV settings or the GPU settings, everything worked right away.

So you hook up TV with laptop via HDMI. If I shut my laptop monitor it goes into standby.

Re: How many people use a Full 1080p Tv for their pc monitor?

Well ive been using this setup for quite a while. I normally have my Firefox on the left monitor (Samsumg 24" B2430) and my desktop/gaming on my TV (40" Samsumg LE40C580) and I have no problems.

Playing games on the TV is a lot of fun, no problems with text or anything running at 1920x1080 (both screens)

Re: How many people use a Full 1080p Tv for their pc monitor?

I have my HTPC (HP Microserver N40L) hooked upto my 3 year old 37" LG LH5000 (1080p) and it's been great! Most LG TV's use S-IPS panels so the colours, picture quality and viewing angles are excellent... Even the response times are better than all IPS PC monitors i've tried (they can get it right with a TV, so why not with an IPS PC monitor?).
