how to change polling order in a monitor?
Hi All:
I have an Acer H233H with two of the three inputs occupied. I'm using the VGA port for a monitor on an AMD Athlon and the DVI is connected to a satellite receiver.
Every time I start up the AMD I also have to start the polling sequence on the monitor. Normally this isn't a pain but when I'm building a system or testing a motherboard, accessing the BIOS becomes hit and miss, greatly expanding my time commitment when I'm loading a system. Right now it polls HDMI, VGA then DVI. I want it to poll VGA, DVI and HDMI. Is there some hack that will allow me to change the polling order on the monitor?
Thanks for your help.

have you had a flick through the manual?
Re: how to change polling order in a monitor?
Hi Samwood:
Yup, less than useless. There is no mention of polling order. It itemizes but doesn't explain the top level of the menus. Anything below that, there is nothing. There is an option in the menu where you can select the input port but it still defaults to HDMI, then VGA and DVI last.
This is really frustrating because I use that monitor for builds and every time I do a reboot I end up missing the BIOS trigger.

Just keep hitting the keys needed to enter the BIOS screen while you change the output or whatever.
It doesn't matter (atleast in my experience) if you press it early/lots of times.

Hi GeorgeStorm:
Yup, that gets tedious after a while. That's what I'm hoping to overcome. Everytime Windows does a reboot, I loose the screen. Then, it's too late to hit the input selector on the monitor in order to catch the boot sequence in the BIOS.
