    Monitor question.

I am looking to build a brand new computer, and the first things I'm looking at, are the peripherals and monitors and such. I'm currently looking at the Acer 21.5" V223HQVbd Full HD (1920x1080) LCD model. What I'm wondering is if I will be fine using a DVI to HDMI adaptor with a 5ms response time without any "side effects" such as a flickering screen or reduction in quality (assuming that the Motherboard is HDMI compatible)?

I don't really fancy spending more than around £90-100 on a monitor, so I want to make sure that the Monitor I choose is adequate enough for what I'm looking for. Any help would be great, and I'm certainly open to suggestions for different Makes/Models/Screen sizes etc.

    Thanks in advance!

This would be your best bet http://www.ebuyer.com/272703-acer-g2...r-et-ug5he-019 it has all 3 Signal Input

HDMI, DVI-D, VGA so it should do what you need it for and its a good price as well

That looks pretty decent, I'll definitely take it into consideration. Good reaction time too. Thanks very much for the suggestion .

Any other suggestions would be fantastic too, I'd like to keep my options open until I actually get around to paying for it.

    Re: Monitor question.

I don't understand why you would want to use a DVI to HDMI adapter. If your video card has a DVI output, plug it into the DVI input on your monitor. Why would you want to convert a superior DVI signal to a HDMI signal? Maybe I misunderstood what you mean?

The monitor he was querying about has only DVI and VGA so he wishes to use HDMI read properly before you comment in such away next time.....

OP the monitor i recommended will be fine for all 3 inputs VGA, DVI and HDMI.....

however you could go abit higher on screen size to say http://www.ebuyer.com/393201-benq-gl...s-9h-l7cla-tbe for a little more money and get the same performance...

    hope this helps

    Re: Monitor question.

Sorry for my confusion. If I understand you correctly now, you want to run HDMI out from your computer and plug it into a DVI port on your monitor so the adapter would be on the end of the cable plugging into the monitor yes? If he had originally stated that he wanted to use a HDMI to DVI adapter instead of a DVI to HDMI adapter it would have made more sense to me. I certainly didn't want to appear rude if that's what you're insinuating.

At the end of my previous post I stated that "Maybe I misunderstood what you mean", which was the case.

    Cheers!

After seeing it dozens of times I have to write no. But I'm not a 20 year old fighter pilot with 20/10 vision.

It really depends on your priorities...image quality, response time etc.

This monitor is similar to the previously mentioned one, but uses a VA panel instead of TN; it should have slightly better image quality & viewing angles, but may have a slower response time:
