Asus PB278Q, YAMAKASI 300 SPARTA MULTI 30" or DGM IPS-2701WPH

    HI,

I'm just asking for some advice and hopefully hands on opinion of what is the best route.

I'd like to go for a 1440p monitor but I have stuck between the models mentioned above.

The Asus & DGM both sound good, but I hear good things about the Yamakasi monitors & there ability to do an OC of 120hz in 1440p mode.

Just be interested to hear of peoples thoughts and even experiences?

Ordering from South Korea does put me off, just incase of a fault and I expect the import tax that will be applied to it.

The two I am looking at are ebay item numbers: 110853473153 & 140794721032 (Sorry can't post links yet!)

    Appreciate any thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Ian.

Have a look at 120hz.net for some informative posts. I'm pretty sure the 30" models won't OC to 120hz though (certainly the Ebay listings you mentioned are quite clear that only 60hz is guaranteed to work).

I do hope that 120 hz 2560x1600/1440 monitors become more readily available in the UK soon; suspect Apple and Dell will have new models out for 2013 and they'll soak up most of the A+ grade panel production in S. Korea for some time to come... meaning prices will remain high-ish.

I ended up getting the DGM IPS monitor, it came through today, It has a fantastic picture, I compared it side by side with my Asus VG278H. It really did look good, the colours which extremely good. I had to tweak the settings slightly and increase the colour saturation via the nvidia control panel. I can highly recommend these screens.
