    Red face Monitor reccomendations.

Hey. I have a fairly nice set-up. Enough to power a good few monitors. Currently running on 2, but one of them is old and sub standard. I would like to replace it with a second widescreen, minimum resolution of 1920x1080. Have been researching IPS/120hz monitors, or just plain old 60hz TN ones. What's your favourite monitor?... Ever? (Apple ones don't count. I'm not paying 1000 pounds for something I can get for 550)

    Re: Monitor reccomendations.

Depends if you'd rather have IPS or 120hz.

If IPS then have a look at the DELL monitors, good quality and prices aren't outrageous. (U2412M, U2312HM).

If 120hz then the Benq monitors are meant to be very good (xl2411t)

Do you have a budget in mind? What are you intending on using the monitor for?

    Re: Monitor reccomendations.

General use + Gaming. I like the idea of the benefit of both IPS and 120Hz, Its deciding whats nicer
I don't really have a significantly limited budget, (EDIT:But of course spending less is always nice) so just reccommend away.

(If I get IPS, I'm looking at true IPS, not E-IPS or similar)

    Re: Monitor reccomendations.

    Any other preferences?

Like size of the monitor? 23" is ok or rather 23"plus?

Or resolution? FullHD is all you need or more is better?

    Re: Monitor reccomendations.

As said in first post, minimum res of 1920x1080.
However 24 inch is plenty big enough, when you get to 27 you lose too much pixel density for my tastes.

    Re: Monitor reccomendations.

Well a minimum of 1980x1080 resolution doesn't really says if FullHD or above FullHD is your idea
Anyway, if I could choose I would go for 24" Dell U2410. Real H-IPS.

    Re: Monitor reccomendations.

I currently have a BenQ XL2420T and a Dell U2412M and is very happy with both. Prefer the U2412M slightly due to the extra pixels and that I cant see much difference with the 120Hz (might be my 560 Ti holding it backā€¦). I would suggest having two monitors of the same resolution. It is not a big deal really, but does bug me a bit now.
BenQ XL2420T is the best TN I have seen so far. It can be insanely bright and made my Samsung P2450H look dull, which is why I then got a Dell U2412M.
The U2412M maybe a E-IPS but still have an edge over my BenQ on image quality. Saw someone recommend the Asus PA823Q in another thread, which seems pretty good also with its 10bit colour.
